Just read a story about a couple from Georgia that
experienced a tragic turn of events. After being married for 7 months, the
husband crashed his motorcycle. The doctors told the wife that there was a 90%
chance that the husband would die; due to him being on life support for 9 days.
Not only that, but the hospital staff
told the wife, “If It was them, they’d pull the plug”. Directly in the face of
such opposition, the wife knew the situation was bad, but stated, “I didn’t
think it was too big for God”. Weeks
later, while being cared for at home, the husband was able to whisper to his
wife, “I’m trying”.
The wife’s name is Danielle and her husband’s name is
Matt. If Danielle could stare down the barrel of a 90% educated estimate, that
she would lose her husband, and refuse to give up; I wonder if there is a
message in that.
SURE IT IS!! If you’re married and it seems that your
spouse is non responsive emotionally, physically or financially, you might want
to model the defiance of Danielle, to accept defeat; you never know when you
might hear, “I’m trying”. Don’t allow other people to tell you when to pull the
plug on your spouse. If God allowed you the opportunity to unite; He will
supply the strength to endure, so that you may hear, “I’m trying”.
Galatians 6:9 Do
not let yourselves get tired of doing good, If we do not give up, we will get
what is coming to us at the right time.
