I'm Pro-Life, But It's Not My Choice

Dear Mommy,
By now, I’m sure you have noticed that I’m growing. It feels like time moves so fast inside of you. I have about 7 more months before I’ll be making my exit, but I’m not rushing because I kind of like it in here. Mommy did you know that my brain is developing? I also have these web-like limbs, that I’ve been trying to control but I have a feeling that it will take me some time to learn how to maneuver. Mommy it’s hard to believe that my entire world is inside of you; which means my life is in your hands. I’m doing the best I can, as far as holding my end of the bargain, because I’m growing.  Since I’m on the inside, I need for you to control what comes in because it could possibly be my dinner. Mommy if there comes a time when things get rough and my biological father splits; just know that I Want To Live, I Want To Physically See You, I Want To Smell Your Scent; and most of all, I Want To Love You For Understanding That, I CHOOSE LIFE.

See You Soon Mommy

I Want this, But I Need that

Since when did stripping become so well accepted? To be honest, I have been to a couple of strip clubs but I never quite understood the logic in giving my money away, just to see some body parts. I think as men, we are drawn to looking at beautiful women and desiring different sexual partners and positions. Men, let's be honest; we can see a topless woman in the AM and rekindle that same vision later that night in 1080p and dolby digital. We are cool with the stripper until it's our daughter, our mother or our girlfriend. The stripper is good enough to toss money at but not an idea candidate to meet mama.  Try telling that story to the offspring; "Son your mama had skills, going up and down that pole". I'ma keep it 100; before I would allow my wife to strip, I would hustle, get another job, or even hit a bank up!
Image result for picture of stripper

The type of woman that should be desired is the type that can hold you down when things get tight. The type that respects you even when the money is low. She honors you simply because she understands the role and responsibilities that come with being a man. She will blow wind into your sail when you're down and let some of the hot air out of your big head, when you start feeling yourself. She might not know how to get low on a pole but she can humble herself and get on her knees to pray for that job you wanted, the spot on your back, your lack of confidence and unforgiveness you hold against your father. She will allow you to lead her, instead of competing with you because she understands teamwork and plays her role well. Bottom line; I want a saved, strip dancing, pole bouncing, praying woman BUT until I can save enough money to renovate the bedroom, I'ma stick with the woman that continues to give her family and me her all; the wifee.

Have You Met the Lion?

Image result for picture of jesus as a lion

How do you explain why the world has little to no respect for God? In order to answer that question, you will need to ask another question; why do Christians have so little fear of the Lord? In an effort to explain, we need to understand how some Christians come to their belief in God. On any given Sunday, you will hear a lot of talk about, “The Lamb of God (Jesus), who takes away the sins of the world”. BUT what you might not hear is a conversation regarding, “The Lion (Jesus) of the tribe of Judah”.

Say for example, you and I were at the zoo and while walking to view the ducks, a lamb comes over to you and licks your hand. How would you respond to that? You probably would be thinking, “That was cute”.  Now, as we walk a little further through the zoo, a lion approaches you. As the lion slowly moves your way, you notice that you’re cornered and the lion starts to show his sharp teeth, as he moves even closer. At this point, you’ve come to the conclusion that you will be eaten by the lion, so you close your eyes and wait for your fate to be sealed. But to your surprise, the lion comes over to you and licks your hand.  Out of the two animals licking your hand, which lick would mean the most to you? Duh! It would be the lion because he could have eaten you; which is an option the lamb didn’t have.

What am I trying to convey? Until you have encountered the Lion of the tribe of Judah, you won’t have any appreciation for the Lamb that takes away the sins of the world.

WARNING: Right is Wrong and Wrong is Right

660-Modder-praying-LI.jpg

How does a highly decorated, 19 yr veteran go from being, “the best of the best”, a professional leader worthy of early promotion; to being unfit for service in the U.S. military, in the span of five months?
Answer: Become a Christian Chaplain in the U.S. Navy and counsel service men and women, whose sexual preference is contrary to your faith. That’s exactly what happened to Chaplain Modder. Something is terribly wrong, when you ask a Christian to pray but don’t use the name of Jesus. Whose name did the captain expect him to pray in?

If I’m a bank robber and I seek out counsel from a police chief; it’s a good probability that I might not like what the police chief has to say about bank robbers. It’s not that the police chief is judging the bank robber; he is merely stating what the law says. What the U.S. Navy wanted Chaplain Modder to do was, disregard his faith when it clashes with the culture. If the culture endorses abortion, tell the chaplain to support pro-choice. If the culture endorses fornication, tell the chaplain to support “safe sex”. If the culture endorses Satanism, tell the chaplain he can still wear his cross; just make sure it’s up-side down.

I salute Chaplain Modder for keeping the faith, and sticking to the script; instead of cowering down to the god of this culture (Satan). I’m asking every believer to keep Chaplain Modder and his family in your prayers. Believe it or not, persecution is coming BUT, the good news is that persecution is what multiplied the church. Fight the good fight!

Is God Talking To You?

Throughout your entire life, you will only have 3 types of needs. I know I got your attention now because some of you are saying, “Well that’s a lie because I have more than 3 needs right now!”  Please allow me a few minutes to break it down. As I break these 3 needs down, I will put them in their own category.

CLASS "C" Need-  Is nothing more than a “Want”, that we fixate on for so long, it feels like a need. One might say, “I need a brand new ride”, but in actuality what you need is reliable transportation.

CLASS "B" Need- This is a legitimate need that you will have for your entire life. But the good part about a CLASS B Need, is that you can manipulate these needs. An example of a CLASS B Need would be a gas bill, electric bill, mortgage payment or car payment. As you may have found out, you can bargain and negotiate the payments, pay a portion of the payment or ask for an extension. A CLASS B Need does not require your immediate attention.

CLASS "A" Need- This is a need that requires your immediate and full attention. This need will come to you without an announcement and gangster your entire day planner, laugh at your agenda and send a cold arctic breeze down your spine, signifying that the things you think are important, can be gone in an instant! An Example of a CLASS A Need would be a death, loss of employment, serious illness or major relationship problems.
As I’ve been given the luxury of experiencing all 3 needs, I must confess that the first two needs didn’t point me in the direction of God. But the last need, the CLASS A, was the tour guide that navigated me to God. Every once in a while, God will allow a CLASS A need to arise in our life, in order for our hearts to become receptive, our ears open and our minds focused on what really matters in this life.  If the truth be told, some of us don’t even acknowledge that God exist, until we get an unexpected visit from a CLASS A Need.
If you’re experiencing a need in your life, instead of complaining, maybe God is using the need as a telephone; in order to have a conversation with you.

"You Either Gone Stay In Or You Gone Stay Out!"

If you grew up in the 80’s, you should be very familiar with the above picture. Man, do yall remember the porch? Especially in the summertime, when school was out; everybody and they mama would be outside.  I’m speaking about a time when kids would stay outside from sun up to sun down and there was one rule; you better not let the street lights beat you home! That meant if you planned on going outside the next day, you would need to be home before the street lights came on.
I can recall those hot summer days, running in and out of the house, to refresh myself with a nice cold glass of water, on numerous occasions. My grandmother was notorious for telling me and my brother this, “Yall better make up yall mind; either you are staying in the house or outside”. I think she was annoyed at the flies and mosquitoes that would follow us in the house.
Now that I have kids of my own, I find myself saying the same thing to them. But often, even as a man, I hear those same words but these days, they don’t come from my grandmother. I hear this still quiet voice telling me, “MJ, you are going to need to make up your mind”. “Either you are going to trust me and do things my way, or you can continue to trust others and do things their way”. As the voice continues, “MJ, what’s it going to be?”  “You refuse to forgive people that have violated your self- respect a couple of times, but you ask me to forgive you, when you violate my laws daily!”

What am I getting at? If Jesus is Lord, serve Him, BUT if you are God, serve yourself! I hear all this talk about, “I’m doing me”. What about doing what Jesus ask you to do?  It’s funny how ministers preach a deceased person into Heaven, when they lived life like the devil. Its strange how we all want Heaven but nobody wants to die. Bottom line- You can’t be your own boss in this life, and serve God in the next life.

Imagine living in a land where murder is legal
Imagine living in a world where drugs are legal
Imagine living in a world where stealing is legal
Imagine living in a world where each person makes his/her own truths;
So there is no such thing as a lie.
Imagine living in a world where folding your hands to say grace, is offensive to the masses.
Imagine living in a world where each person makes their own god; creating whatever image comes to their mind to worship.
Imagine living in a world where nothing is off-limits; even the elementary children are fair game, while in school.
Imagine living in a world where children discipline their parents instead of receiving discipline.
Imagine living in a world where virgins are shunned, while people with STDs are the “In-Crowd”.
Imagine living in a world where entertainment overrides education.
Imagine living in a world where good is evil and evil is applauded.
Imagine living in a world where people are starving and live right up the street from a 532,000,000 dollar football stadium.
Imagine living in a world where convicted killers become teen idols.
Imagine living in a world where religious leaders steal social security money from widows, in the name of God.
Imagine living in a world where pastors have 24k toilets, and there congregation members are living off of food boxes.
Here’s the Good News! We don’t have to imagine it
Here’s the Bad news; We’re living in it.
Lord, forgive us and help us as a nation.

Do You Know What TIME It Is?

Image result for picture of time
Before I get too far into this post, I wanted to share a couple of definitions with you. I would like to look at the definitions of Time. Time is the indefinite continued progress of existence and events in the past, present and future regarded as a whole. In laymen terms, it means; hours, minutes, seconds, months, weeks and years. This word “time”, comes from the Greek word Chrono, which indicates time as chronological. But before you start bragging that you know Greek, here’s another Greek word for time.

The word Kairos is also used for the word time but checkout the definition; a time when conditions are right for the accomplishment of a crucial action: the opportune and decisive moment. It also means; “opportunity,” “season,” or “fitting time”.

What am I getting at? There will be times (Kairos) in your life that the things you want to accomplish, will need for you to seize the moment. If you miss that time (Kairos), you will need to wait some time (Chrono), in order for your time (Kairos) to come again. Basically, KNOW WHAT TIME (Chrono or Kairos) YOU’RE GOING THROUGH. Whatever you might be going through, fighting an addiction, marital conflict, money problems, or finding purpose; YOUR TIME (KAIROS) WILL COME, JUST BE READY!

A Look at the K.K.K. in 2015

Image result for picture of rick ross and jay z
Before I even get started, I’m not saying Jay Z and Rick Ross are members of the K.K.K.  A person doesn’t have to be a member of a certain sect, in order to carry out the purpose of that sect. For the sake of time, the principle behind the K.K.K. was and is; to affect power relations, both public and private. To curb the education, economic advancement, voting rights, and right to keep and bear arms of minorities.
They wanted to influence how one acts at home and in public; ensure the targeted minority had little if any education, which would pose as a tremendous barrier to economic advancement. They also wanted to ensure that minorities didn’t have a voice politically, by intimidating minority voters. And last but not least, they fought to make sure minorities didn’t keep or bear arms.
POINT: The next time you listen to Jay, Ricky Ross, or Wayne; Ask yourself the following;
Does the music affect my personal or public life? If so; In what way?
Is the content  “Dummy Downed?”  Besides having to learn the latest street terminology, is the content predominately the same?  Are the tracks still talking about money, cars, sex, downgrading women, hustling, cocaine and carrying a tool (firearm)? Don’t you feel like you’ve heard those songs before, just with a different beat?
Does the track speak of financial gain, where the risk is just as high as, or even Higher than the gain?

If you were to act on their recipe for success; could you possibly end up with a felony?  But trip on this; by acquiring a felony, it would prohibit you from voting or carrying a firearm.

NOW

Go back to the first paragraph, read it and ask yourself, “Could it be possible that the K.K.K. have folded up their white sheets and exchanged them for microphones, necklaces and tattoos?”

I could but I won't make this about Race. All I have to say on this one is, “Councilmen, judges and police in the city of Ferguson; are you serious?” How do you accept any role of leadership in this country and bash the Commander In Chief? Let’s get this straight before you twist my words and fall under the impression that I agree with all The President’s views; in some areas I am defiantly against some of the President’s policies, I don’t respect some of the changes that have taking place due to the President; BUT I DO RESPECT THE POSITION! If you think calling the President a Chimpanzee is respectful, try doing that in Uganda! If there are two many black folks for you there; try going to North China and calling their leader Kim Jong-un a chimpanzee. Let me know how that works out.  Let me attempt to understand the logic in the leadership in Ferguson; you get around your roundtable of social media and secretly (That’s what you thought) call the Commander in Chief a Chimpanzee BUT you want respect from the people you were supposedly attempting to lead; How does that work? Assuming that none of you were born into leadership, you worked under a supervisor at one time. Did you always agree with the supervisor? Probably not BUT you knew that even though you didn’t like the supervisor, you had to respect the position; that’s if you wanted to still receive a monetary form of compensation for your work.  I know that in Amercia, we enjoy the priviledge of freedom of speech, but the freedom that we enjoy, does come with a responsibility to be respectful of one another.
Bottomline; Yall should of listened to the wisest man who ever walked the face of the earth

DO NOT REVILE THE KING, EVEN IN YOUR THOUGHTS, OR CURSE THE RICH IN YOUR BEDROOM, BECAUSE A BIRD IN THE SKY (EMAILS) MAY CARRY YOUR WORDS AND A BIRD ON THE WING (DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE) MAY REPORT WHAT YOU SAY. Ecclesiates 10:20

So Now, What Were You Saying?

Usually for my post, I will create after I pray; BUT TODAY, I decided that I've said enough. I thought it would be appropriate if Eric Thomas shared on the topic of this post.

So, this is the danger,
this is why I'm telling you to be careful.

So when you talk, right.
When you say,

'I want to be a Doctor.
I want to be a Lawyer.
I want to be an Engineer.
I want to be a track star.
I want to be an Artist.
I want to be a rapper.'

Like whatever you say out of your mouth,
that one word,
will require,
thousands of actions!

Hear me and hear me carefully!

You gotta be careful doing too much talking
because whatever it is you say,
whatever it is you say:

'I want to be an NBA All-Star.
Look, I want to win a championship.
I want to win the NBA Finals.
I want to win the Super Bowl.'

When you open up your mouth and say that,
there are -
do you understand how many push-ups you gotta do?
How many reps you gotta do?
Do you know how many stretches you gotta do?
Do you know how many plays you gotta practice?

When you say you want to be a Lawyer,
do you know how many cases you gotta sit through?
Do you know how many books you gotta read?
Do you understand how many classes you have to take?

Do you understand when you say you want to be a registered nursed,
when you say a nurse,
do you know how much clinicals you have to do?
How many chapters you have to read?
Do you understand how early you have to get up?

Listen to me,
I'm in London man,
seemed like every kid came up to me!

Do you understand when you say you want to be a football player,
you gotta practice with the left,
you gotta practice with the right,
do you understand how much practice you have to put in?
How many games have to play?
How much film you have to study?
How much dribbling with your head you got to do?

So do me a favor:
Shut Up!
SHUT UP!

Stop talking!
You talk too much!
You talk entirely too much about your dreams!
You talk too much about your goals!

Say it once!
Say it twice!
No more than three times!
And get to work!

Wake up early in the morning and work!
Take a break in the afternoon,
get yourself something to eat,
nap if you have to,
then get to work.

Are you hearing me?
Work! Work! Work! Work!
Grind! Grind! Grind! Grind!

Time Management?

Image result for picture of woman putting on makeup in car
Let me be the first person to say, “Women, you have us men beat at multi-tasking”. For example, my wife can hold the baby, push the vacuum, and talk on the phone at the same time. Me on the other hand, I have to prioritize because it’s either vacuum, hold the baby or talk on the phone. But sometimes I do believe that my sisters do take multi-tasking too far. I was driving to work during rush hour and looked to my right, and a woman was putting on her makeup while driving. She looked like she was pretty serious about that makeup, but I have to wonder. Maybe she should have got up a little earlier, in order to doll her face up, because she could have altered the course of someone’s life, as well as hers, all in the name of Maybelline.
Before we start hammering our women, could it be possible that some of us take our spiritual life the same way? We have this mindset that we can live our early portion of our life as we please and as the end draws near, we will get things right with God. Just like the woman putting on her makeup while driving in rush hour traffic, we think that we can live as we please, and just before we take our last breath, we will say, “Ok God, forgive me and give me a first class ticket to Heaven”. Did the woman putting on her makeup have time to get dolled up before she left home? Yes, but she figured that she would get it done right before she got to work. It would be a great strategy to do “Your thing” when you’re young and get things right with God when you’re old BUT the question arises, “How do you tell if you’re young or old?” Do you go by your age, feelings, health or looks in order to tell if you’re young or old? For the sake of time, most people go by their birth date BUT what we should go by is our DEATHDATE! You see; the 5yr old girl, who was killed last week, was very old when she was 4yrs old. She was a senior citizen when she was 3 yrs old.

This my friend is Gospel; YOU and I are not guaranteed tomorrow!  We have TODAY, if tomorrow comes, great but eternity is for too long to be wrong.  Hebrews 3:15- As it is said, “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion. 2 Corinthians 6:2-For God says, “At just the right time, I heard you. On the day of salvation, I helped you”. Indeed, the “right time” is now. Today is the day of salvation

FIFTY SHADES OF RED

What’s with all this Fifty Shades of Grey talk? In my bedroom, there is only 2 shades; lights on and lights off.  It’s dawned on me what the American Dream is and how the American Dream is obtained. The American Dream is to make $ hand over fist, purchase a warehouse and turn it into a mansion, buy a vehicle for everyday of the month and be your own boss. This sounds good, don’t it? But this is how you obtain it; you create a song that uses the words, bitch, Ho, murder drugs, and sex. If your not a music artist, you can make a movie but it has to be raunchy; the dirtier the better. Or you can get your break by making a sex tape and put it on YouTube. Some will say, “Sex Sells” but sex doesn’t sell, people who participate sell. They sell themselves, in fact; they will sell their Mama if the money is right.
But I got a movie for you; it’s called Fifty Shades of Red. In this movie, the Director isn’t selling sex, drugs, death or murder. In fact, He isn’t selling anything. He’s buying! That’s right; He’s in the purchasing business. The Director of this movie isn’t looking to make a $ off of the misery and pain of others because he isn’t a “Taker”, He’s a Giver. As a matter of fact, He gave enough of His blood, to purchase your salvation and enable your sins (Past Present and Future), to be forgiven. I know you’re used to a master who constantly takes from you, so the idea of a Master who wants to give, sounds crazy. But the choice is yours; choose wisely.

Ephesians 1:7-8 - In Christ we are made free by His blood sacrifice. We have forgiveness of sins because of God’s rich grace. 8 God gave us that grace fully and freely

BREAKING NEWS--Just made the Endangered Species List

Since the weekend is quickly approaching, I thought this post would be appropriate. To my surprise, I came across an article that reported the following; 72% of black kids are raised in a Single-Parent Household! The number is at least 8-10% higher, since the article was written. This number is twice the amount of white kids that are raised in a Single Parent Household!! Across ALL RACES, the U.S. has more than 27.7 million children who currently reside in Single-Parent or No-Parent (Children in state custody, and those being raised by Non-Parent Guardians) homes!!
Mamas and Daddies, simply put, we need to do better. Some people are quick to throw out the phrase, “We have evolved as a society”. My question would be, “What are we evolving into?” How did black slave couples keep their family unit in place, through such cruel and hostile conditions? The master taking a slave’s wife and raping her, then sending her back pregnant, to her husband! These couples didn’t have counseling, therapist, internet or Face Book; but they did have the resilience to handle adversity far better than the “Society we have evolved into”.
By the time you read this, it will be Friday; which for many represents PARTYTIME at the CLUBS. So before you spot a potential mate for the night, and then blame it on the alcohol, this is how it could turn out. The female misses her period, takes a pregnancy test and it is +. She decides to keep the baby (No abortion). You decide to make it official and marry her due to the baby; but have no intention of staying with her. After 1-2 years, you have had enough and decide to call it quits. BAM! The Divorce, Alimony, Child Support, and visitations by appointment. What’s next? The struggle, the hatred, and the child left to pick sides. And if you’re lucky; another nigga just might stick around to do what you wouldn’t; RASISE YOUR SEED! Think About it.
