Spare the rod, spoil the child

Can someone please tell me what ever happened to parents spanking their children? What’s with all the Timeouts? I’m very much from the Ol’ School; where as a child I believed my grandmother could and would Take me out! I truly had a fear of my grandmother, which produced respect. Look around at our youth today and tell me if you see respectful kids. I agree with the Black Lives Matter movement but I also believe in children being respectful. A lot of protesting could be avoided by parents who would discipline their children.  I see parents who are more interested in what their kid has on their feet instead of what the child has in their heart. I’ve even heard a child go as far as to tell the parent that they would go to jail if they spanked them. My reply to that would be to grab a couple hundred dollars, sat it on the table and call the police to inform them that I’m getting ready to whoop the H.E. double hockey sticks out of my rebellious child. In theory I believe every parent desires to be a friend to their child but when the friendship interferes with the parent-child relationship, there’s a problem. If given the choice between being my child’s parent or being their friend, the friendship will come up short every time.

Guess who's next in line for Equality?

Drastic times call for drastic measures. Since our country does not have an appetite for sound doctrine, we will be accepting EVERYTHING! First we change the definition of marriage, in order to allow Same Sex Marriages; then we strip the constitution bare, what’s next? Glad you asked; what we will see next is people who are fond of intercourse with animals, lobbying for the right to legalize their sexual preference. After all, it’s not HURTING NO ONE! Shortly after that, we will see people whose sexual preference happens to be with children, fighting for the right to legalize consensual sex with minors! And just when you think you’ve heard or seen it all, mothers will express their sexual preference by protesting to have sex with their offspring; in order to keep it in the family. The waters are getting murky and what you will see is The United States of America transformed into The Perverted States of America! I would like to take credit with giving you this information but I believe the first person to report this was The Apostle Paul.  (READ Romans 1)



As Your President, I'll do better with the Nation's security than I did with my emails

This may very well be my shortest blog I’ve posted but who says, “More is better?” So I heard Hilary did very well with the Democratic Debates? There was a time when I believed in Hilary Clinton and had confidence in her ability to become the Commander in Chief of the Free World BUT my stance has changed! We may disagree with different views on her policies but one thing we cannot afford to disagree on is her lack of discernment, regarding the nation’s security! The bible states, “To whom much is given, much is required.” Mrs. Clinton has boasted time and again over her vast amount of experience BUT that experience has not translated into honesty.

Senator Clinton, if you cannot manage an email account, how the hell can the country trust you with managing foreign affairs, Isis, and domestic issues? I believe a woman can be the Commander in Chief, but that woman would need a quality that Senator Clinton is lacking, which is INTEGRITY.

Open up Wide !

How have you enjoyed the Presidential Debates so far? Have they been entertaining? Did you hear some comments that tickled your ear? Before you disclose your answer, you might want to look at the word Debate! According to one definition the word Debate means; A formal discussion on a particular topic in a public meeting or a legislative assembly, in which opposing arguments are put forward.

What do the Republican and Democratic debates have in common? ANSWER: they’re not really having a debate according to the definition because they had discussions on many different topics. I would go as far as to say, “Those haven’t been debates at all but smoke screens that attempt to hide the real purpose, which is “Buy my idea!” If the term of a president is 4 years, my question is, how the heck can one person promise to make changes in those four years that we know (Evidence based) cannot be followed up on or carried through?

They declare that their idea will fix the deficit (19 trillion and counting), make President Putin buckle at the knees, end gun violence, create jobs, restore the middle class, end global warming, bring peace to the Middle East and provide free public college education.  In good conscience, do you believe that all this is possible in 4 years? If so, I have some yellow snow in New York that turns into 14K gold by the end of winter.

In short, the next time you tune in to a debate (Republican or Democratic), get in a comfortable position and open wide! 

Why Politics Suck in America!

I heard a story today that sums up why America sucks when it comes to policies concerning Economics, Foreign policy, Winning a War, Education, Gun Control, Domestic Violence and Equality.

An illiterate father with his educated son went on a camping trip, they set-up their tent and fell asleep. Some hours later the father wakes his son and asks; “look up to the sky and tell me what you see?”

Son: I see millions of stars

Father: What does that tell you?

Son: Astronomically, it tells that there are millions of galaxies and planets

Father: Slaps the son hard and says, “Idiot, someone has stolen our tent!”

Just couldn't leave a Good Thing Alone

How can a country stand when it has intentionally moved from its bedrock foundational truth? Not to say that America has been innocent with all of its dealings throughout history BUT America did have a foundation that allowed it to prosper and grow. Like it or not, America was founded on Christianity and morals that reflected an emphasis on following Christ. America was not founded on Islam, Buddhism or Hinduism. America was not prosperous due to its ability to be “Politically Correct”, or its newly acquired talent of embracing ideologies that are in direct conflict and pulling the stitching out of the same moral fiber, that made it a great nation. Instead of the United States of America, we have evolved into the “Sinful States of America,” literally sticking our middle fingers to the heavens, daring a Holy God to react. Prior to taking prayer out of schools, did we need metal detectors at our public schools? But as we have evolved, by escorting God out of our schools; parents are now hoping desperately that their child makes it home after school alive! We pride ourselves with all the technical advances we’ve made throughout the years but one has to ask if we have become sophisticated barbarians; when millions of babies are butchered a year, in the name of “Pro Choice”?  

America reminds me of a barber who used to cut my hair. This barber would really do a good job of cutting my hair but there was one problem; he just couldn’t put the clippers down. He would do a good job of fading my hair but he just had to keep on cutting until he eventually nicked me and messed the entire haircut up. The problem wasn’t that the barber didn’t have skills; he just couldn’t leave good enough alone.





Who says, "Money don't fall from the sky?"

The next time someone says, “Money doesn’t fall from the sky,” tell them to talk with the family in Nogales, Mexico. The family was sleep when they heard a noise that sounded like thunder, which is expected during the monsoon season. Thinking nothing of it, the couple went back to sleep only to later find that their carport had a round hole in it. Not only was there a hole in the carport but the family’s doghouse was destroyed by a bulky bundle, wrapped in plastic; which turned out to be 26 pounds of marijuana! The value of the bundle of marijuana was $10,000. Maybe the family prayed for a financial blessing and the Good Lord allowed the drug smugglers to accidentally drop the bundle at the family’s home. Yeah Right!

Some of us would have followed suit with what the couple did by informing the police, while others would have chalked the incident up as “Divine intervention” and initiated a Start-up Pot selling empire. A hand few of us would have utilized the bundle of marijuana to self medicate ourselves through the daily ups and downs of life. What category would you have been in? For me, theoretically it’s a “No Brainer”, I would've informed the local authorities of my findings. But experientially speaking, I’ve never been in that situation, so it’s easy to say what I THINK I would do.

Whatever category you and I may think we would’ve been in, here’s something that’s certain; it was a blessing that the 26 pound bundle of marijuana, falling from a considerable distance in the sky, didn’t happen to fall into the couple’s bedroom because instead of contemplating calling the authorities, the next of kin would have needed to contact the local coroner’s office.

Moral of the story is, be thankful in all circumstances because it could always be worse.

The Alternative to Murder; The Baby Moses Law

I believe that Ronald Reagan said it best, “I’ve noticed that everyone who is for abortion has already been born.” This isn’t a post with the intention to bash Planned Parenthood or individuals who have had an abortion. This isn’t a post to incite gatherings outside of abortion clinics throughout America. To be frank, I don’t believe a person should be outside of abortion clinics with signs to stop abortions if they’re not willing to adopt the child that a mother wants to abort.  That’s why I was so zealous to read about the Baby Moses Law in Texas. This law gives parents who believe they’re unable to care for a child, the right to safely drop off a 60 day old or younger infant at several sites throughout the state of Texas.

Would it be safe to say that some people have been born into chaos but were able to overcome the odds, to become productive members of our society and left contributions of substantial worth to us all? We must remember that who’s unwanted by one is wanted by someone else. For a pregnant mother to abort a child shows that she believes that she will be the only influential person in that child’s life. The mother never realizes that it takes more than an individual to raise a child. The Baby Moses Law says, “If you feel you made a mistake, if the child will be unwanted, uncared for, neglected, mistreated or crippled by your state of poverty; at least give the child a chance with someone who will be making an intentional decision to become a parent. My mother was an alcoholic so she gave my brother and me to another family member. At first I felt hatred and abandoned by my mother but as I later reflected on her decision, I saw a mother who came to the reality that she didn’t want children but wanted to give her children a chance to live life.    

"The Sixhour Room"

The picture that you’re looking at above is a body underneath a sheet, at a morgue in Denmark. The room that this picture was taken in is called, “The Sixhour room”. It’s called the “Sixhour room because a Dr. will examine the body before 6 hours have passed from the time of death. If you look at the picture, you will notice a red cord in the photo that has never been used, but its there anyway; so that the person can call for help should they awaken.

Question: Are you in your “Sixhour room?” In this room your purpose or dream appears to be unresponsive to the effort that you’ve invested into it so far. You’re at a place in life, where nothing appears to be happening, people have forgotten about you, and the support is at an all time low.

Truth of the matter is what’s impossible with man is possible with God! Sometimes God will raise up a opposition much stronger, and bigger than you or I can handle; just so we get desperate enough to “Pull the red cord”, or ask for help! Why would a loving God do such a thing? One reason is to increase your faith in Him; showing that nothing is too difficult for Him. Another reason is to bring glory to His name.

The only Question that remain is; Will you pull the red cord?

Tell me the Truth, even if you have to lie!

The children in a prominent family decided to give their father a book of the family’s history for a birthday present. They commissioned a professional biographer to do the work, carefully warning him of the family’s “black sheep” problem: Uncle George had been executed in the electric chair for murder.

“I can handle that situation so that there will be no embarrassment”, the biographer assured the children. “I’ll merely say that Uncle George occupied a chair of applied electronics at an important Government Institution. He was attached to his position by the strongest ties, and his death came as a real shock.”

At the end of the day, Uncle George was a murderer. 

Being politically correct simply means walking on eggshells, calling right wrong if the majority is for it. 

Is it politically correct to not use the name Jesus in a praying way while in public or in a secular setting; but use the name Jesus as part of a swear phrase in that same public or secular setting?

Black Love and Brown Pride on the Sets Again

In America, when you hear discussions about immigration and establishing an effective border control policy; usually the first nationality of people you might think about aren’t blacks.

In America, when you hear about unarmed males being gunned down by police, the picture in your head isn’t a Latino male, it’s a black male.

One race struggles for the right to become a permanent resident in a country that provides a better way of life; while the other race struggles to literally survive in the same country where the value of their life can be less than the life of a dog.

These two groups of people seem to have two totally different fights; one for national citizenship and another for the right to breath. What’s alarming is both of these nationalities are fighting individually against a machine (government) that does not have either of the two best interests at heart.  Blacks are very much tied to the notion of deportation as the Hispanic race is, but on a different level. While my Hispanic brothers and sisters are fighting to not be deported back to their country; my black brothers and sisters are fighting not to be deported into a correctional facility.

I wonder what would happen if both nationalities looked at their struggle collectively; noticing that even though they are a majority in this country, their government does not reflect it. I see a bunch of old white people in congress; I see the Supreme Court and it portrays the same image; except for Judge Thomas.  Google the senate and tell me who do you see; not the majority. This would be a good time to ask a very important question; how can the minority rule over the majority? What if both nationalities merged and formed an alliance based on establishing laws for a Brown America? 

Did Ashley get everybody caught-up?

After recent events, I’m certain that the profession for me is becoming a divorce lawyer. Millions of marriages worldwide will be tested in their rawest form. Ashley Madison has become the vehicle driven to arrange extra marital affairs; with the slogan, “Life is short, have an affair”. I guess their slogan does have a trace of truth to it because after the hackers known as “The Impact Team”, releases all those email accounts of spouses engaged in extra marital affairs, some of those spouse’s lives will be cut short.

Unfortunately if you’re one of the many individuals whose discrete affair, is in the process of becoming public; there is little to no good news.  As one Dr stated, Ashley Madison members would be best served by coming clean instead of waiting to see if their indiscretion is discovered. The Dr went on to say, “Fall on your sword if you want to save your relationship.”  Here's the kicker; while families are left to navigate through the storm of infidelity; Ashley Madison has gotten paid and moved on to the next gullible soul. 

The fallout behind these cheating spouses can potentially go well past their own generation; affecting the way their children will behave in their committed relationships. Exposure is a bad boy, it has no statute of limitations, no boundaries, no regard for status or feelings. Even the Dark web couldn’t barricade itself from the truth. 

Suggestion: Instead of attempting to re-invent our self through an extra marital affair; spend some extra time investing into your marriage, to re-invent the love of your life.

Black Lives Matter, When the Killer Is White?

Alright, at first I was on board with the movement “Black Lives Matter” but there appears to be a common denominator with the movement’s protest; all the suspected killers are not black! It makes one wonder if the movement is only functional when a black life is taken by the hands of another race. I haven’t seen the “Black Lives Matter” movement protest against the black teacher who allowed middle school students to have sex in his classroom. I must have missed the rally by the “Black Lives Matter” movement at the local abortion clinics because baby, black lives matter also right?

If black lives really matter, it shouldn’t be an outrage just when the killer is white; what about the countless sellouts, selling dope to pregnant black women, creating infants who go through withdrawals because they are born as involuntary addicts? If black lives matter, why not protest against the black gang violence in Chicago, taking more lives in one year than in the war in Iraq? If the movement is going to be selective about when “Black Lives Matter”, don’t get upset if outsiders treat the movement like a female who has sex with everybody in the hood, but wants to be looked at as a virtuous woman at school.

In closing, don’t be selective with wanting to see justice. In Ferguson, MO. There was a 9 yr old girl by the name of Jamyla Bolden, who was shot and killed in her bedroom, while doing her homework. The bullets came from outside the home; most likely from a drive by. If “Black Lives Matter”, network with the Ferguson community to bring Jamyla’s killer to justice! Let's hit the streets, with the "Black Lives Matter" movement for Jamyla; banners and all. By the way, I don’t believe her killer was white.

A Cry for help behind Jared's Weight loss?

As we looked at the tremendous display of commitment and discipline that it took for Jared Fogle to shed some 240 pounds; we are stunned and bewildered that he could not muster enough strength to say, “No” to his unhealthy appetite of sexual inappropriateness with minors. How could someone be a beacon of light and a inspiration to all who struggle with obesity; decompensate to traveling, in hopes of engaging in sexual acts with minors?

What if Jared’s motivation to lose weight was inspired by the notion of reducing his weight, for adaptation to the children he wanted so desperately to be intimate with? This might sound crazy but not only did Jared become the spokesman for Subway, he also started a charity for children who struggled with obesity. What if Jared was crying out for help, in the form of holding up those blue jeans that were enormously big; in an effort to warn of the appetite he had for children of a smaller size?  

What I gravitated to was Jared’s lawyer stating that, “Jared Fogle expects to go to prison”, “He will do his time”. Jared understood that the party was over, the people with the funny hats and noise makers have left the building; it is time to stand accountable.  ARE YOU ACCOUNTABLE?

If I were President of The United States.....

Greetings My Fellow Americans;

After watching the Republican Debate, I’ve decided to throw my name in the hat for the presidency.

If I was president, I would end the “War on Terror” while simultaneously ending the recidivism rate of criminal offenders by, deploying at least 60% of incarcerated American felons to the Middle East. Their campaign would entail, waging war against ISIS, and literally fighting for their freedom.

If I were president, I would solve the border situation with illegal immigrants by taking the other 40% of incarcerated American felons to our nation’s borders and have them build a 30ft wall; in which these inmates will earn their freedom, base on how well they control their section of the wall.

If I was president, I would end the civil unrest in Ferguson, MO. By ensuring that the majority of authority figures (Police), reflected the community they serve; also ensuring that officers who don’t reflect the majority of the community, receive adequate cultural training prior to implementing them into the community.

If I was president, I would cut the national deficit in half by declining funding and loans to countries; until home is taking care of.

If I was president, I would end racism by making it unlawful to marry anyone of the same nationality; making it difficult to display hate towards your own seed.

If I was president, teachers would make a wage that signifies, “Education is first”, while professional athletes and entertainers would be taxed in order to make this possible.

All jokes aside, our country has plenty of issues that require some adjusting, but election after election, all the American People hear is how a man/woman plans on fixing the economy, the border, healthcare, racial injustices, terrorism and an education system that is pulling up the rear.  Why don’t we have an election on the greatest priority of our country in the next 4 years? After determining that priority, have an election for the candidate whose ideology and experience allows our country the best opportunity to address the priority within the next 4 years.

By the way, my solutions to the country’s problems might sound real crazy, but after watching the Republican Debate; you have to admit, At Least I have a plan to address the problems.

"Honey forget the popcorn, I'll take some ammo"

Just how uncertain is your next breath? Considering there has been 2 movie theater attacks in the past month; I would say, “Very uncertain”. I would go as far as to say, “Where can a person go and really feel comfortable?” We live in a society that glorifies violence in entertainment; from cage fighting to graphic horror flicks and we act stunned and bewildered when a person goes into a church and kills 9 innocent people. We are dumbfounded when a man beheads his wife, and kills his pets, only after he tears an eye out of his eye socket and amputates a limb.

If people are being used as target practice inside of a bible study, what makes us believe that we are safe at a doctor’s appointment? This life is so frail that even a firearm cannot ensure our safety. We have created a culture where every human has to be on high alert while at the store, pumping gas, at school, in the park, on the road, at church, in the movies, at the doctor, at work and yes, even while we sleep. How can compassion be demonstrated in a blood soaked culture; where even “Good Samaritans are gunned down for attempting to assist someone who appears to be stranded on the side of the road?

ANSWER: We are either going to degrade ourselves into animals; creating a human version of Animal Planet, in which we destroy one another OR we make the “Choice” to LOVE.

If King James is wrong, ask his wife

What’s with all the fallout behind The Queen James Bible? First of all, I would like to acknowledge the interpreters for creating a bible that is “Gay friendly” and leaves no room for homophobic interpretations of the bible.  Also the way the interpreters were able to rewrite multiple verses to please the LGBT community and gay churches, was a good example of “Thinking outside of the box”. I know a lot of Christians who are appalled at the whole idea, but before anyone gets on their spiritual high horse, let’s not dump the baby out with the bath water. So they changed some wording in scriptures that relate to homosexuality; will that suspend God from dealing with them? You see, the question is; can God utilize other parts of the bible that don’t specifically address their sexual preference, to bring a moment of clarity? What does the bible say about lying, stealing, love, adultery, lusting, coveting, pride, gossiping, murder, laziness, fornicating and  repenting?

 I’m fully persuaded that the God of the bible is powerful enough, that if His conviction (Not Condemnation) misses you on one subject, it will find you on the next.  The problem isn’t misinterpretation, the Real problem is REBELLION!

Let’s face it, we are naturally a people that want to do what we want and if what we want is illegal or morally wrong; we lobby to pass bills, in order to get man’s approval. I would be all for it if Man was the person I will give an account to in eternity.  But since each man (Mankind) will stand before a God who cannot be voted in or voted out, it would be in our best interest to adhere to His Word instead of twisting His Word, as if twisting His Arm to support our Sin.

What do you do when the pressure is on?

What do you do when you’re the last line of hope for someone in a dire life or death situation? That’s easy; if you’re Matthew Sanchez, you just terminate the line that connects you to the person who is begging you for help. Matthew Sanchez was the Albuquerque Fire Department dispatcher who chose to take a comment personal. Don't get me wrong, when someone curses at you, it can be tempting to lash out. But when your employment is geared around responding to people in a crisis, they're not calling you to wish you a happy birthday or to speak encouraging words into your life. Mr. Sanchez worked as a emergency dispatcher for 10 years, so in that time frame, he has handled calls from diverse crisis situations; so the call from a 17 yr old girl attempting to get help for her dying friend should have been a cake walk.

Let’s not bag on Mr. Sanchez entirely, because even though he hung up the phone on the girl, he was able to dispatch an ambulance to the scene. I believe that Mr. Sanchez was not in a good space personally; instead of coming to work on that day, he would have done himself justice to take a personal day. One thing that I’ve learned in the social field is this; if you don’t take care of yourself, you’re no good to the people you are suppose to serve. I would rather have a doctor who has his secretary call me and reschedule my surgery; than to have that doctor perform the surgery on me, and his mind is on the thousands of dollars in alimony, he will be paying his soon- to- be ex wife.

Long story short, TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF! 

Mayday on the Front Line

This picture serves as a “Double Edge Sword” because on one hand it cuts through the callousness of the heart; showing that when push comes to shove, regardless of race, Americans will protect each other. On the other hand, this picture shreds through the notion that our government gives a damn about our troops. When we have civilians standing guard for our troops because they are not allowed to carry firearms, it’s a sad day for America. The same soldiers who carried a M16 A-2 service rifle for the good of mankind; cannot carry a firearm for their own survival, how does that work?

To add injure to insult, the Department of Defense cowardly demands recruiting centers not only to stay unarmed, and unguarded but also not to wear their uniforms! If not wearing a uniform will de-escalate the attacks on our military, why didn’t that strategy work for the Iraq army, which had uniforms of sweat pants and flip flops? People have asked me what I thought about Donald Trump’s comments regarding John McCain being a hero and my answer was, “Donald’s comments were just as absurd as the Department of Defense telling our valiant soldiers to not wear their uniforms.” Last time I checked, Americans don’t tuck their tails and run. We didn’t become a great nation by allowing foreign or domestic threats to alter, dictate or intimidate our culture; much less, diminish our resolve.

What the Department of Defense and Commander-in -Chief have failed to realize is that Americans have a limit! We can only be pushed back so far with your politically correct campaigns, your water downed version of war, with a hostile enemy on American soil. If the statement, “Where there is a will, there is a way” is correct, you will find that the will of the American People has always risen to epic proportions when as a nation, our backs our pushed against the wall; if you don’t believe me, keep pushing. 

It's time to clean the backyard!

I feel compelled to share a story with you that still bring a giggle to my face. As a teen-ager, my brother and I would make some extra dough by cutting my uncle’s grass every week. Who needed a part-time job, with an uncle paying $50-$100 dollars, just for cutting his grass? One morning my brother and I woke up and went directly over to our uncle’s house to cut his yard but in the process, we bypassed our own yard needing to be cut. We walked about 4 blocks before my uncle pulled up in his car and told us to that our granny said, “Mo Back”. Since we didn’t know what Mo Back meant, we said, “What?” My uncle said in a loud voice, “Granny said to come back.” The lesson we learned that day was, “Take care of home before you take care else where.” We also learned what the phrase Mo Back meant; which was, come on back.

I sit and wonder at times if America could stand to hear the phrase, “Mo Back.” As a nation we appear to be highly motivated to assist Ukraine; while at home, we have doctors treating people for cancer who are perfectly well; it’s time to Mo Back. We have taking the lead in sending troops to Afghanistan in order to fight terrorist; while at home, we have unarmed solders being killed by terrorist; it’s time to Mo Back. As a nation we have sent troops to Iraq to implement democracy; while at home we struggle with acknowledging racism and social injustices taking place nation wide; it’s time to Mo Back. We assist in Egypt with massive airstrikes due to hundreds of people being killed but at home, we have policemen terminated black life for misdemeanors; it’s time to Mo Back.  

I’m not a rocket scientist but it would seem logical that a country would want to first establish at home what they’re attempting to implement abroad. Here’s an idea, why don’t America restore the trust of the American people in politicians? How about this one, establish a government that works for the people who elect them, instead of people working for the officials they’ve elected? As for a war against Isis and the Taliban; if we are not winning at home, what makes us believe we can win in the Middle East? It’s time for America to come on home, while there is still a home to come home to.

The Hunter Becomes the Hunted

As you looked at the picture of the dead mouse caught in a trap; you’re probably wondering, “Where are you going with this one?” Well as soon as I read an article from the Washington Post titled, “From A First Drug Arrest To A Life Sentence”, I thought about a mouse problem I had at my home. After discovering that we had a mouse running around the house, I went and brought a couple of mouse traps and set them in the corners of the kitchen. Little did that mouse know that when he came out to hunt, there was a trap already set for his demise. It was sorta like “Trading Places”, because the mouse that was out hunting for food became the prey of the trap I already set! What irony, the hunter became the hunted. That leads me to my next question;  

What’s the chance of an American citizen, who’s a first time, non violent offender, to serve a LWOP (Life with-out parole) sentence for a nonviolent crime? The chance is a reality if you’re Sharanda Jones. In 1999, a federal judge sentenced her to life in prison after her conviction on a single cocaine offense.  For the past 16 years, Ms. Jones has been housed at Carswell federal prison in Fort Worth for a cocaine conspiracy conviction. Maybe Sharanda Jones caught the wrong judge with the wrong case, at the wrong time; which would explain this ridiculous sentence. I wish that was the case but the cold reality of the matter is, there’s a common theme with African Americans and LWOP sentences for non-violent crimes; Blacks catch the blunt end of the sentences.

Estimates show that nationwide, 65.4 percent of prisoners serving LWOP for non-violent offenses are Black, 17.8 percent are White and 15.7 are Latino. Need more? The percentage of Black prisoners serving LWOP for non-violent offenses is 78.5 percent in Mississippi, 68.2 percent in South Carolina, 60.4 percent in Florida, and 57.1 percent in Oklahoma. (Statistics gathered by the A.C.L.U.)

If I could talk with "Laura"

Dear “Laura”,

As I read about your story I felt compelled to reach out to you. Maybe my motivation for reaching out to you comes from the similarities in our upbringing. I was raised by my grandparents as well and I too believed that my parents had me before they were ready. Living with anyone other than your parents can make a child feel like they don’t fit in the family; almost like a house guest that over stays their welcome. I guess since 2002, when Belgian legalized euthanasia, there have been 1,400 people a year that feel similar to you. “Laura” we also share another trait, which is depression. For me, it has been a constant fight to maintain my sanity; and that’s with taking medications. I also had a parent who was an alcoholic as well; which led to me being sexually abused by others and that sucked. I understand that you’re 24 years old and in the process of making your funeral arrangements; as well as, your last words to your mother and grandmother.

This is normally where the intervention comes in, attempting to make you see the reasons for living But not this time. The reason people push us past our dark feelings are because they are uncomfortable talking about death and would rather jump straight to life. Even though they mean good, they unintentionally devalue our feelings in order to make them a little more comfortable with helping us. “Laura” once your date for death is set, what do you see as the benefits for ending this life? Do you believe a benefit would be that you would rid yourself of all pain (emotional and physical)? Would a benefit be to not feeling like a failure? How about not being a burden to others, by way of worrying about you? "Laura", while I do empathize with you, I disagree with your statment of, "life, thats not for me." 

"Laura" everything that you and I have went through (Good/Bad) is woven into our being, with the purpose of giving us an opportunity to experience unconditional love from a God who works EVERYTHING out for our good. By the way, the benefits that I listed above are unproven, wishful thoughts that attach themselves to our feelings, to appear as facts when in actuality they are nothing more than opinions. Dr. "Do Wrong" A.K.A. Dr.Farid Fata

As I have started to mature, meaning hit the 40’s, the priority of having good health has moved up. I’m at the age where I need to get a colonoscopy, a prostate exam and a host of vitamin supplements. Even though my health is a concern, I still need a pep talk from my wife in order to get the ball rolling. Right about the time when I’m motivated to make the appointments and put some vacation time in from my work; BAM! A Dr. from Detroit has made over 17 million dollars from diagnosing people with a terminal blood cancer, who didn’t even have cancer! This Dr. was also giving unnecessary infusions or injections and flat out misdiagnosing the rest. Just how many patients did this Dr. Bamboozle? Around 553 patients put their trust in this Dr and fell victim to his web page of labeling him as, “World-Renowned” and “Top Doc”. One patient had been grossly over treated with expensive and harsh chemotherapy; to which he had a testicle removed. Another patient received chemotherapy for 2 ½ years but he didn’t even have cancer. The treatments were so strong that the patient’s teeth fell out of his mouth and his jaw started to change shape. By the way, the Dr. received a sentence of at least 34 years.

As I reflected on this story, and once again became ambivalent to prioritizing my own health; I recalled what the wisest man in the world left for advice. He said, “Where no counsel is, the people fall; but in the multitude of counselors there is safety”. (Proverbs 11:14)

What the wisest man in the world was saying is that an individual is to obtain a wide range of input, opinions and facts before coming to a conclusion and making a final decision. Talk with your spouse, friends, and relatives. Seek much legal advice, get a 2^nd and 3^rd opinion and meet with professionals. Obtain a multitude of published documents, books and findings. NEVER RELY ON THE ADVICE OF ANY ONE DOCTOR, LAWYER OR INTRUCTOR.
