If you have seen the movie Scarface, maybe you can relate to this. During a conversation between Tony Montana and his right -hand man Manny; Tony asks, "Me, I want what's coming to me." His friend Manny asks Tony, "Oh, well what's coming to you?" and Tony answers, "The world, Chico, and everything in it." Talk about the spirit of entrepreneurship! Tony was really on to something with such a desire. Where does one get that type of ambition from? Such lofty ideas and grandiose thinking should be labeled prideful and arrogant. Or is there more to that statement then meets the eye?
I believe what Tony Montana wanted was dominion; which is something that God commanded Man to have. Genesis 1:29 states- God said,"I am giving you all the grain bearing plants and all the fruit trees. These trees make fruit with seeds in it. This grain and fruit will be your food". The word dominion means to rule; authority, the act or fact of ruling; domination.
Man was not meant to be dominated; especially by things that he is supposed to have dominion over; such as, Cocoa leaves (Cocaine), Cannabis (Marijuana), Tobacco (Cigarettes), Barley Wheat (Alcohol) and so on, which will include all the man-made items; such as, meth, bath salt and spice. How can you tell if you're being dominated by a grain bearing plant or fruit tree? Do you have to rationalize, minimize or justify your use of these plants? If so, it's a good chance that you're being dominated. But here's the Good News, not only can you be free BUT you can have Dominion!
Heavenly Father, I didn't know that you commanded me to have authority over (the item or items you struggle with), I'm sorry for not having dominion but Father I want my dominion back. Father I desire to walk in authority, but I've tried it on my own and failed over and over again. I'm tired father, so i ask you to come into my heart and free me, in Jesus name. Amen
