In order to properly articulate this post, I must start
by saying that whenever a life is
taken, there should be a time of mourning. But once we mourn, once we vent our
frustration, once we play the “Blame Game”, once we shed our last tear, where
do we go from there? If lives were taken by automatic rifles, do we make laws
to ban automatic rifles? If lives were taken by semi automatic firearms, do we
make a law to ban semi automatic firearms? If lives are taken by bombs made
from fertilizer ingredients, do we make laws that ban the use of fertilizer? If
lives are taken by box cutters, do we make laws that ban the use of box
cutters? What if it becomes trendy to use lawnmower blades to slay individuals,
do we ban the use of lawnmowers? Make no mistake about it; the instruments used
in committing murder may vary BUT
the intentions of the HEART are the same; MURDER.
If these senseless acts of violence aren’t the “Judgment
of God” it’s safe to say that they’re the indictments against a country that
has defiantly and faithfully attempted to 86
God from the fabrics of its society. We would rather make laws to ban the use
of any instrument that can be used to commit murder, than adhere to an old law
that’s been in place and will never change. Pretty soon we will need to walk
the streets naked to ensure public safety, instead of humbling ourselves under
the Mighty Hand of God. How many lives would be saved if we would comply with, “Thy
shall not murder”? How many guns would
be relieved to know that they would no longer be used as the “Scape Goat” for
the murder that lives in its owner’s heart?
