Can someone please tell me what ever happened to parents
spanking their children? What’s with all the Timeouts? I’m very much from the
Ol’ School; where as a child I believed my grandmother could and would Take me
out! I truly had a fear of my grandmother, which produced respect. Look around
at our youth today and tell me if you see respectful kids. I agree with the
Black Lives Matter movement but I also believe in children being respectful. A
lot of protesting could be avoided by parents who would discipline their
children. I see parents who are more interested in what
their kid has on their feet instead of what the child has in their heart. I’ve
even heard a child go as far as to tell the parent that they would go to jail if
they spanked them. My reply to that would be to grab a couple hundred dollars,
sat it on the table and call the police to inform them that I’m getting ready
to whoop the H.E. double hockey sticks out of my rebellious child. In theory I
believe every parent desires to be a friend to their child but when the friendship
interferes with the parent-child relationship, there’s a problem. If given the
choice between being my child’s parent or being their friend, the friendship
will come up short every time.
