What type of hold are you in?

Image result for chokehold

I believe that the title of today’s post is fitting for my audience today. Would you believe that each and every person on earth is in some type of hold? There is something in your life that you struggle with. Some of us struggle periodically and some of us struggle on a day by day basis, but make no mistake about it, there is a struggle. If you’re able to say that you don’t struggle with anything, maybe you’re right; you may have given up altogether. For some odd reason when we think of a struggle, the first thought is drugs or alcohol. But let’s think a little outside the box, such as; lying, defensiveness, stealing, insecurities, selfishness, anger, over-inflated ego, porn and low self-esteem. When we struggle with such items, it is possible that we are being held; and if that’s the case, we need to know what type of hold we are being held in.

A.     A Toe Hold- This is something that rears its nasty head from time to time, but the victim still has some leverage.

B.     A Foot Hold-This one is kinda tricky because with this hold, its victim is under the impression that they’re in control, in spite of the obvious limited movement, due to this hold. With this hold, it restricts a person from being around certain people and the time that's spent with others.

C.     A Strong Hold- Once this hold is applied, its victim understands that they are no longer in control, only attempting to plea-bargain; agreeing not to move if the hold does not get any tighter.

D.    A Choke Hold- With this hold, the victim usually turns colors and there is only a shadow of the person left.  At this point,  there is only a glimmer of hope left in the eyes of the victim and without immediate, determined intervention, the Choke Hold becomes The Death Hold
